Marin Organizing Committee Meeting – Panim el Panim

Welcome to Kol Shofar

Congregation Kol Shofar, Marin County's conservative synagogue, is a vibrant, progressive center of Jewish life, with a growing community of more than 600 families. Kol Shofar is your place to form meaningful connections, access Jewish education for you and your family, and celebrate and discover the joys of Jewish life in a spiritually dynamic community.

We are a community of warm, welcoming people who come together to pray, celebrate, learn, practice Tzedakah, form life-long friendships, and help each other through life’s ups and downs. We embrace our congregation’s diversity of Jewish expression. Both women and men participate equally in all aspects of congregation life, and children are actively encouraged to join in. Our doors are open to members and non-members, to all Jews, and to any and all non-Jews who wish to be part of our community. Our congregation provides a welcoming environment for interfaith families, and embraces all individuals regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.

PHOTO EXHIBIT ON BALCONY

Entitled Sidewalking Israel - Spring, 2008", this year's exhibit of black and white photos by Rabbi Bernie Robinson candidly portrays the people and the artifacts of urban life as encountered in public places. Come to our balcony to view current slices of the particularity that is Israel.

We all have a cause we care about - whether it's finding a cure for cancer, saving the environment, finding homes for abandoned pets or so many other worthwhile endeavors. But what we don't all have is the time or money to support these efforts as much as we'd like. So, what if we could raise money for our favorite charities and schools by doing something we do every day — searching the Internet.

GoodSearch is a search engine which donates 50% of its revenue to charities and schools designated by its users. It's a simple and compelling concept. Use GoodSearch exactly as you would any other search engine. Because it's powered by Yahoo! you get proven search results. The money donated to your cause comes from advertisers — the users and the organizations do not spend a dime!

In 2007, GoodSearch was expanded to include GoodShop, an online shopping mall of world-class merchants dedicated to helping causes across the country. Each purchase made via the GoodShop mall results in a donation to the designated charity or school – averaging approximately 3% of the sale, but going up to 20% or even more.

Go to www.goodsearch.com, and designate Congregation Kol Shofar as your charity of choice. Then all you have to do is start using Goodsearch as your search engine instead of Google! And remember, Goodsearch uses the same search engine as Yahoo! Every little bit helps!
