Singers Hill Synagogue was built in 1856 and has played an important part of the life of Birmingham Jewry. Even when movements of Jewish population in Birmingham resulted in the provision of synagogues elsewhere in the City, Singers Hill has remained an important hub of Jewish worship and communal life over the last 150 years, and is termed the "Cathedral" Synagogue of Birmingham.
