Our mission as a temple is to be a vital center for the diverse Jewish community in Santa Cruz County; to perpetuate Judaism through religious, educational, cultural and communal activities; to offer our members a cohesive, caring community.

Temple Beth Elohim is a Reform Synagogue that practices liberal Judaism in a warm and traditional atmosphere. It is a center for religious observance, for religious education, and family and social life.

Up until the European Enlightenment, and the beginning of Reform Judaism in the seventeenth century, there was only one option for religious Jews. Since the founding of the Reform Movement, and subsequently the Conservative Movement, there are many choices for Jewish religious expression. I’m fond of saying that Temple Beth Hillel practices authentic Reform Judaism.

Congregation Beth Israel is the oldest and largest Reform congregation in Arizona. Located in the Phoenix - Scottsdale area the Temple offers one of the finest religious school and preschool, Judaica library, resident summer camp and sponsors various social and philanthropic programs.
