In February 2001, YIFA members organized an experimental Sephardic Minyan as an attempt to accommodate the neighborhood's Sephardic presence. The response was promising. Since then, the Minyan has grown to in strength and numbers.
Services are conducted with strict adherence to Sephardic tradition, i.e., Nusach HaSepharadim v'bnei Edot HaMizrach. The current Minyan comprises a diverse group of men and women of all ages representing five continents, many of who speak a variety of languages. Jewish families and individuals from all Sephardic backgrounds and walks of life are encouraged to join the Minyan in prayer.
Following services, a typical Sephardic Kiddush is served. All are encouraged to partake in this warm social – and culinary – experience.
